 Met Sam at Exmouth Market last night (Wednesday) and walked to Farringdon for the tube to Liverpool Street. Due to a train breakdown, we were forced to take the Elizabeth Line. 



It is very impressive! After arriving at Liverpool Street, we made our way to Spitalfields for a pre dinner drink.



Then dinner at Flat Iron nearby, all they do is steak, and it was very good!
The area around Liverpool Street and Spitalfields is awesome, with heaps of people and a real vibe! And it was only Wednesday!




We then walked to Shoreditch and a drink at The Owl and Pussycat - considered by many to be the ‘soul’ of Shoreditch.



A great night in East London - thanks Sam!

This morning we walked to Olivia’s coffee shop - The Ethiopian Coffee Company. 🇪🇹 The couple were very friendly and he invited us to participate in a prayer video he was doing to support people back in Ethiopia. He also offered to organise a trip to Africa for us! 


Jumped on a bus and got off near Pall Mall.

Then on to Borough Market, and a drinks stop - well actually, more like a toilet stop!

                              As was the paella!

We settled on fish and chips. Fortunately we got in before the crowd!


Next time I will be heading for the strawberries and chocolate!!


Bought a tasty piece of cheddar to take to Nicola’s tomorrow.
Then tubed to Kings Cross and back to the flat for a cuppa and rest before heading out for dinner tonight.

 Met Olivia’s girlfriend Kate at cafe near Highbury Fields then made our way through the park to the Stadium.  A lovely warm day with 22 degrees, not bad for the 1st of October! Arrived at the Stadium for Women’s Arsenal v Liverpool. Had no idea of what to expect. Not sure about these apartment buildings? Don’t quite seem to fit in with the local landscape … but perhaps that is progress? And banners of past Arsenal great on the concourse.     Must say I was surprised how big the crowd was Finally made our way to our seats after having our bags checked and tagged. Very impressed with the skill level and the atmosphere was fantastic, especially when the Home fans started chanting ‘Arsenal’ and booing the opposition when they slowed play down!  And a record attendance for a WSL match of  54115!!  Kia ora koutou. Welcome to my blog, hope to keep you updated and informed during the next 4 months on our journey across Europe and the UK. Christchurch - Home

 It has taken me all this time to summon up the energy and the will to complete the last post of our wonderful journey. The Paris-Singapore leg was fantastic with both of us sleeping and waking up only 3.5 hours from Changi Airport! Approaching Changi we were informed there was congestion and we would be in a holding pattern ... after 30-40 minutes, we diverted to Johor Bahru in Malaysia as we were running out of fuel. This was only a journey of 60km, but we ended up spending 2.5 hours waiting for the plane to be refuelled then back to Changi. By this time we had missed our connecting flight to Christchurch. Singapore Airlines were very organised and had our boarding passes ready for us for Auckland-Christchurch. Although by this stage we only had 45 minutes to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and Gate 29. For those of you familiar with Changi, you will know the sheer size of the place.
