York - Warrington - Crosby Beach

Left York after breakfast and took the motorway back to Warrington and dropped the car back at the rental. David was there to pick us up.

Back to Winwick Park for lunch with Sue, Nigel and Stephen, friends of Angela and David.

Then to Liverpool and Crosby Beach to meet up with Charlotte, Ophelia and Glen. To say it was windy would be an understatement!

But it was certainly worth it to see the work of Anthony Gormley who constructed 100 cast iron figures which are placed on the beach and are all facing out to sea.

              The wind was rather challenging!

My mate didn’t appear to be feeling the cold! 🥶

                        These poor fellas have sunk!

At high tide the figures are completely submerged.

Headed to Charlotte and Glen’s after the beach for a hot drink and good-byes, then back to Winwick Park. Jonathan called in around 6pm to say hello.

Then Rugby World Cup Quarter Final 🏉, ABs v Ireland 🇮🇪 … what a great match and an amazing final 5 minutes with the ABs holding on for a super win!
