Then a stroll bordering the woods that were unfortunately closed off due to some disease.


Anfield tour tomorrow (Tuesday) then Harrogate for the night.

 It has taken me all this time to summon up the energy and the will to complete the last post of our wonderful journey. The Paris-Singapore leg was fantastic with both of us sleeping and waking up only 3.5 hours from Changi Airport! Approaching Changi we were informed there was congestion and we would be in a holding pattern ... after 30-40 minutes, we diverted to Johor Bahru in Malaysia as we were running out of fuel. This was only a journey of 60km, but we ended up spending 2.5 hours waiting for the plane to be refuelled then back to Changi. By this time we had missed our connecting flight to Christchurch. Singapore Airlines were very organised and had our boarding passes ready for us for Auckland-Christchurch. Although by this stage we only had 45 minutes to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and Gate 29. For those of you familiar with Changi, you will know the sheer size of the place.  Kia ora koutou. Welcome to my blog, hope to keep you updated and informed during the next 4 months on our journey across Europe and the UK. Fingers crossed I can keep you updated on my iPhone and I am able to upload photos to the blog. 🤞 Not long to go now! We fly out 10.50am Thursday 13 July from Christchurch - Singapore - Milan. Arrive in Milan 6am local time and spend 2 nights before training to Verona. Stay warm and will connect soon!  😎

The Emirates Stadium

 Met Olivia’s girlfriend Kate at cafe near Highbury Fields then made our way through the park to the Stadium.  A lovely warm day with 22 degrees, not bad for the 1st of October! Arrived at the Stadium for Women’s Arsenal v Liverpool. Had no idea of what to expect. Not sure about these apartment buildings? Don’t quite seem to fit in with the local landscape … but perhaps that is progress? And banners of past Arsenal great on the concourse.     Must say I was surprised how big the crowd was Finally made our way to our seats after having our bags checked and tagged. Very impressed with the skill level and the atmosphere was fantastic, especially when the Home fans started chanting ‘Arsenal’ and booing the opposition when they slowed play down!  And a record attendance for a WSL match of  54115!!
