Quarry Bank (Manchester)

Met Jade, Arlo and Atticus at Quarry Bank, one of Britain’s greatest heritage sites.

Samuel Grigg created a huge cotton-spinning complex at Quarry Bank during the early Industrial Revolution. Quarry Bank opened in 1784 and transformed the valley and the surrounding area.

We walked around the cotton mill and experienced the lives of the owners and workers, a fascinating and informative experience.

After the mill, we walked around the picturesque gardens and grounds.

Did a loop back to the carpark

Arrived back at Winwick Park where Angela and David live. David then drove me into Warrington to organise a rental car for next Tuesday when we head up to Yorkshire.
Side note: Arlo was most intrigued with our Kiwi accents and asked us to pronounce words such as ‘ten’ and ‘bath’. 🤣
