London - Warrington

Walked to Euston Station yesterday (Tuesday) from Granville Square, did not realise how close Euston and Kings Cross St Pancras are.

Nice train ride to Warrington Bank Quay Station where David was waiting for us. Certainty a bit cooler in the North but nice to have a change of wardrobe!

An early dinner then off to Toughsheet Community Stadium, yes, Toughsheet, for Bolton v Stevenage in the 3rd tier football league.

Purpose built stadium and close to the action. A great atmosphere with a crowd of around 15000, not bad for a mid week game. Loved the chanting, clapping and banter … “ah, give over”, “that’s crap!”, and booing at decisions that went against Bolton. 🤣
Also, very impressed with the 200 odd Stevenage supporters that travelled up for the game. They certainly made their support well heard!

Bolton scored early from the penalty spot and went on to win 3-2.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience, 2 football games in 3 days! We now have our fingers crossed 🤞 that St Helen’s (league) can win their semi final this week and we might get to the League Cup final at Old Trafford. 🤞🤞
