Granville Square
Walked to Upper Street after breakfast and coffee at Camden Passage.
Walked up to Essex Rd to our butcher man Nigel at Elliot’s Butchery. Had a great chat about a range of topics ranging from Cornwall, football to meat inspection and abattoirs! Nigel cut me some lovely pork steaks, and also some pork sausages which looked very good! He was a hard case and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. He said if Olivia ever went there, she is to tell him she is “young Gary’s daughter” and he will look after her! 🤣
Back to Granville Square with groceries for tonight’s dinner then down to Exmouth Market for bus into Haymarket for Kinnaird House and the NZ High Commission to cast our Vote.
Piccadilly Circus
After voting we walked to Covent Garden and Anne ‘hit’ a few shops but no joy. She decided to head back to Upper Street while I walked down to the Embankment. Stumbled across Victoria Embankment Gardens and a couple of statues.
Robert Burns
This was a surprise … “To the glorious and immortal memory of the Officers NCOs and men of the Imperial Camel Corps British Australian New Zealand Indian who fell in action or died of wounds and disease in Egypt Sinai and Palestine 1916-1917-1918.”
Waterloo Bridge & the Obelisk & Sphinx
Side note: warmest September on record in Greater London. Have been so lucky with the weather. Hardly any rain and today reached 22. Have been walking around in short sleeves since returning to London on Friday.
Love that butcher.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, just what you would expect of a London butcher!! 🤣
