Granville Square - Richmond

Walked to Russell Square and tubed to Barons Court.

Changed to Piccadilly Line for Richmond and met up with AMB, Veerle, Phil and Hannah. Down to Richmond Green and had our pastries and coffee in the sunshine.

From left; Hannah, Phil, Verrle, Anna, Olivia & AMB.

A great effort by Veerle who had run 22km from Highbury/Islington!

Phil provided valuable local intel on the area and we set off for Richmond Park.

                                Loved this sign!

Richmond Park consists of 2500 acres and traces its history back to Charles 1 who brought his court to nearby Richmond Palace in 1625 to escape the plague sweeping through London.

It is quite surreal being in this wonderful environment but being able to see London City then come across wildlife!

Then time to head back to Richmond for a late lunch at the White Cross Pub.

Weren’t booked in until 4.15pm so grabbed a drink and sat on the Thames in the sunshine!

Unfortunately the Sunday Roast menu had run out so we headed to another pub … Sunday Roasts all gone also so settled for pie and mash, plus a pint of Hogs Back.

A great day in the sunshine meeting up with Olivia’s friends and work colleagues, exploring Richmond, including the Park and the picturesque riverside!
