Granville Square - Palermo (Sicily)

Left apartment just after 5.40am and walked to Farringdon for Thames City Link to Gatwick. Through security in plenty of time and had a bite to eat at Pret.

Two hours 30 mins to Palermo Airport then caught the train into the town, and a 15 min walk to our 16th century accommodation where Sam and Urh had already checked in.

Just around the corner from our accommodation is a traditional Sicilian street food place. Had to try the chickpea sandwich - tasty and filling!

The boys headed back to apartment as they are still working, so the 2 of us went walking, and what a place!! Palermo, like Sicily is incredibly old and you are surrounded by history, churches and piazzas everywhere you go!!

                                 Local market

Local streets and side streets, Palermo has a real vibe.

Came across Piazza Pretoria and Santa Caterina Cathedral (1580).

Don’t know what the sculptures represent in front of the cathedral, but stunning  … tomorrow’s homework!

Off out for dinner after a big day starting at 5am! Just as well we aren’t working. 🤣
