Zagreb (Croatia)
Walked to train station in Ljubljana yesterday (5 min walk from apartment) and caught the train to Zagreb, the Croatian capital. 🇭🇷 Due to the recent floods in Slovenia, our 2h 10min trip took us 3 hours, but we weren’t in a hurry and we enjoyed the scenery, but felt for all of those people affected as we passed flooded homes and farmland.
Anne was up to her usual high standards on the accommodation front and our B&B apartment overlooks Dolac Square and the main daily market. Great location and lovely room!

Today (Wednesday) we did the ‘Hop on Hop off’ bus tour, a great way to see the city highlights and get your bearings!
St Marks Church - 13th century
(love the tiled roof!)
Croatian National Theatre - ballet & opera
Zagreb Cathedral - constructed mid 13th century, originally in Gothic style then Gothic Revival in 19th century
Walking back from the National Theatre, we stumbled across this statue - Nikola Tesla! A Serbian- American inventor, born in Croatia, best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.
