Eze - Villefranche - Beaulieu
Woke to an ominous sky and rain forecast all day.
Decided to Uber to Eze, a 10 minute drive away, on the French Riviera. Eze is famous for its magnificent hilltop views and botanical gardens containing cacti and succulents from all over the world. Walt Disney spend a significant amount of time in Eze.
The area surrounding Eze was first populated around 2000 BC as a commune situated near Mount Bastide. The castle was built in the second half of the 12th century by the Eze family.
Anne decided against a dip, so Olivia and I hit the beach … we were the only ones in the water, who would have thought you could ever get the beach to yourselves on the Côte d’Azur!!
Still no rain … 🤞 so headed to our Super U supermarket for more supplies then back to apartment for lunch. Threw together a yummy lunch with a view from the balcony!
Rain arrived about 45 minutes later. Great timing as we then rested up after our lunch.
And a special thank you to those of you who have commented on my blog! 🙏 The purpose of the blog was twofold …
1. I am basically lazy and it would take too much effort to keep connected to all of you individually! The blog was an easy way to keep those of you who were interested in our travels up to date in one hit.
2. It is a diary for us to look back on in our old age! 🤣
Blog is great Gary. Look forward to reading it every day!
ReplyDeletePleased you are enjoying it … please leave your name. ☺️
