Verona-Trieste-Ljubljana
Local cafe near apartment for coffee and croissants this morning. Olivia had been there the last 2 mornings after her early morning run.
We arrived around 7.20am and the owner was just opening and told us he would be a few minutes … hey, when in Italy … and we were in no great hurry, as long as we made the train station by 9am. No one is in a rush here, not a bad thing!
Cappuccino, dopio Nespresso and 2 cute wee glasses of water (complimentary) finally arrive. Told us the croissants would be 10 minutes (didn’t actually order any, but hey!) … would we like marmalade, Nutella or honey? Opted for the marmalade which was basically a jam. All for €6.80, so cheap!
I will be open in a few minutes … let me clean the tables first 🤣
Croissants were delicious! 😋 A great start to the day in a reasonable temperature of 24 … the low for the day!
Back to the apartment, lugged cases down 3 flights of stairs and a 15 minute walk to train station. Finally stopped sweating 😓 and luxurious air conditioning in train. Who would have thought our lives would be revolving around air conditioning since our arrival in Italy! 🇮🇹
